Figs, figs, figs, figs!  Can’t get enough lately!  From Fig Jam to Fig muffins and most recently Fig Smoothies!

When the figs my mom brought me started to over ripen I cut up a bunch and tossed them into the freezer for future use.  They’ve turned out to be a delicious addition to smoothies that we’ve all been enjoying.  In particular, this Vanilla Fig Protein Smoothie using About Time Protein Powder.

It’s light, refreshing and packed with protein perfect for after a workout, an afternoon snack or an addition to a meal.

Vanilla Fig Protein Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup chopped frozen figs
  • 1 scoop About Time Vanilla Protein Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • 1 cup coconut water

Instructions

  1. Put all ingredients into a blender and mix away!
  2. Enjoy 🙂

Favorite Fall Recipes

Holy cow it’s already Thursday!  Don’t get me wrong, I’m just as happy as the next person to welcome any day closer to the weekend but this week is literally flying by!  I think part of it is that every day we have been very busy.  Yesterday zipped by since it was spent in the Bay visiting my Grandpa at the hospital.  He has actually been moved to a rehabilitation center and is doing much better but has a long way to go.  Thank you again for all your thoughts and prayers as they seem to be helping!

Okay so now that it is officially fall I figured it was okay to post some of my favorite fall recipes.  Although i’ll admit I jumped on board the pumpkin wagon as soon as Starbucks released their Pumpkin Spice Latte a few weeks ago.  We’ve already been pretty pumpkin crazy in our house lately but pumpkin isn’t the only food I look forward to this time of year.  I love apples, butternut squash, kale, spinach, pears… yum!
