Stay fresh and Natural with Crystal

Stay fresh and Natural with Crystal

As most of you know I’ve had my fair share of struggles the past few years with hormone and fertility issues.  Which is why I’m very cautious about the products I use on a daily basis.

Deodorant is one product that I used to use everyday and not think twice about.  Recently though I’ve been reading a lot about the dangerous toxins that could be in our deodorant and seeking into our bodies.

Keep Bugs Away Naturally with

Keep Bugs Away Naturally with

I’ve always joked that I have this naturally sweet blood that mosquitos and other bugs just love.  That’s because I literally get attacked by bugs when I’m outdoors.  Especially this time of year.  When the weather is warming up and there’s standing water which is breeding ground for pesky mosquitos.

Unfortunately my son got my same sweet blood because he typically gets eaten alive as well.  Not only is this a very annoying issue to have because of the actual bites, but it’s frustrating since the only way to keep them at bay is with bug sprays that have dangerous chemicals.  At least before that was an issue, but we’ve recently discovered a new, natural way to keep the bugs off.

Natural Body Care with Dragonfly Traditions

Natural Body Care with Dragonfly Traditions

This past year I’ve been focusing a lot on ridding toxins from our home.  We’ve been eating very clean and toxin free for a few years now but it’s amazing how many toxins can be transferred into your body through other products.  Hair care, cosmetics, lotions, cleaning products, air fresheners, etc.   Simple things you often think are harmful could be causing more damage than you know.

So little by little I’ve been eliminating ways we could be transferring toxins into our body.  The other day I published a post with a few of my favorite natural cleaning products and I’ll do another soon with a more in-depth look at the natural cleaning products I  use.  Today I wanted to focus on a skin care line I’ve been loving and is 100% natural, toxin, parabens, chemicals, dyes, fragrances, preservatives or fillers.

Things I’m Loving Lately – Natural Products + a Recipe!

Things I’m Loving Lately – Natural Products + a Recipe!

Hi guys!

It’s Thursday.  Already….  This week flew by!  After living a few weeks in a blur it’s no wonder this one flew by.  Trying to catch up on house work, blogging, work, appointments etc. has kept us busy!

It’s been a little while since I’ve shared some things I’m loving lately so I figured today would be a good day to do so.  I love learning about new products when other bloggers do these types of posts so hopefully you all enjoy it when I do them as well!

Eco Nuts –

Okay so I have to admit I had no idea these were actual nuts until after I purchased them from Costco.  At $5.00 for the whole box!  When I got them home and opened them up I remembered seeing them on Shark Tank a few months prior.  Nuts that clean your clothes!  What!?!  Being a sucker for natural products I gave them a try and guess what… They work!  I was expecting our sweaty gym clothes to stink without soap but nope.  They smelled fresh and clean!  As does the rest of our laundry after using them.  All you do is stick 4-5 into the provided cloth bag and place them into the washer with your clothes.  The only downside is trying to find the bag in your wet clothes before transferring to the dryer but if they dry it’s no big deal.  The nuts are reusable too and last for up to 10 washes.  I haven’t had to buy laundry soap in over a month and still have so many left.  Love them!

How we Combat Sickness with our 3 year old

How we Combat Sickness with our 3 year old

It’s funny how kids can get sick and continue to go on with their day, playing, talking, running around like nothing.  When an adult gets sick (in particular a grown man and I know I’m not alone on this one), they act like the world is ending!  Can’t get off the couch, can’t get out of bed, can’t do any chores…. I know many women, especially moms,  will agree that the world definitely does not end when we get sick.  Am I right?

Anyway, luckily The Hubby and I are not sick right now.  In fact (knocking on wood as I type) I haven’t been sick in ages!  I chalk it up to all the greens, high quality foods, bone broth, fish oil and supplements I take.  Or I’m just lucky 🙂

The Love Nugget is not so lucky right now.  He’s caught a bit of a cold.  Bound to happen this time of year when he’s being exposed to all sorts of germs at school, the gym, and places we go to play.  I could keep him in a bubble during cold and flu season and try to avoid getting sick but what fun is that?  Plus, we have a good routine down to battle that sickness when it does happen which shortens the duration and makes things more manageable.

I thought I’d share with you how we battle sickness in our house with The Love Nugget.

Paleo Friendly Finds at Costco

Paleo Friendly Finds at Costco

Yesterday I was supposed to go meet my mom to pick up The Love Nugget.  However, he decided he really wanted to stay another day to play with his cousins and since he doesn’t get to see them that often I agreed.  I miss him but am so glad that he is having a fun time with his Grammie and cousins!

So I had a whole day to myself!   What to do what to do…

It’s funny I have TONS on my to-do list and lots of stuff I wanted to do but… I didn’t get it all done.  Mainly because my back was killing me.  Ugh, will it ever get better!?!  I did get a chance to make a few phone calls one of which was to a massage therapist (apt. Friday) and one to the Bowen Method.  Have you heard of it?  The Hubby went awhile back when he injured his back and said it helped a lot so I”m going to give it a try.  Fingers crossed it helps!

Other than resting I did manage to make it to the grocery store, get some food prep done, cleaned the house and organized both my and The Love Nugget’s dressers.  So that was good.

Grocery shopping meant a stop at Costco where I was yet again impressed with their Paleo friendly options.

Paleo MeeNut Butter

You guys know about my love for nut butters.  I think right now we’ve six different jars in our cupboard or fridge and they are probably all half empty.  No only do I love them, but both The Hubby and Love Nugget do as well.  So when I got a jar of MeeNut Butter in the mail to try out, we all couldn’t wait to dig in.

Gluten-Free Graham Crackers

I went through a phase in college where graham crackers were a staple in my cupboard.  I was a busy, poor college student and they worked for a quick breakfast with peanut butter, snack on the go, or after dinner treat.  No, not the healthiest but I’m sure there was worse I could have been living off of.
