The Love Nugget’s Birth Story

The Love Nugget’s Birth Story

Since I didn’t start writing this blog until after The Love Nugget was born I never really shared his birth story with you.  Or maybe I did years ago and have forgotten.  In either case, I figured I’d relive those days by posting about it since I’ll be once again going through it all again at some point in the near future 🙂

The Love Nugget was due on May 12th, 2011.

A Fun Weekend with my Little Man

A Fun Weekend with my Little Man

Happy Monday Friends!

How was your weekend?  Do anything fall related?  Pumpkin patch? Apple picking?  Fall festival?

The Hubby was gone this past weekend so it was just The Love Nugget and I.  While we missed him, we also enjoyed some mom and son time doing all sorts of fun things.

Friday we kicked off the weekend with his much-anticipated (by him of course) field trip to Bishops pumpkin farm.

Date Night with my Little Man :-)

Date Night with my Little Man :-)

Hi there!

How’s your week going?  Half-way to Friday!  Which I’m looking forward to as we have a day trip planned into San Francisco to watch a Giants game.  Go Giants!

Until the weekend we are going through our normal weekly routine.  With the exception of a special evening for myself and my little man last night.

Celebrating my little Love Nugget!

Celebrating my little Love Nugget!

Happy Memorial Day!

I don’t think I realized it was Memorial Day until earlier this week.  It’s strange that they moved it up a weekend which threw me off completely.  We don’t usually do much for Memorial Day though other than honoring those who have sacrificed their lives for our country 🙂

If you caught my post this weekend, you know we celebrated a very special little guy.

Interview with The Love Nugget

Interview with The Love Nugget

The Love Nugget has always been a chatter box but lately we’ve been calling him 20-Q because he’s constantly asking us questions.  It’s great of course but can be a little draining especially when that question is often, “Why.”

Ayden please pick up your legos – “Why?”

Please put your shoes on – “Why”

Don’t touch the garbage can please – “Why”

We are working on when it’s okay to ask why and when we need to think before we ask why.  I know it’s a normal stage but like I said, it’s sometimes very draining.

The other day he was in his talkative mood and I remembered a fun interview I had seen on Gina’s blog last week.  So I stole some of her questions, added a few of my own then turned the tables and ask him a bunch of questions 🙂

What is your name?

“Ayden”

At home shopping for kiddos with Moxie Jean

At home shopping for kiddos with Moxie Jean

Yesterday I was tired.  Like exhausted tired for some reason.  It could have had something to do with the fact that I woke up wide awake at 4:30 am.  Once I realized The Hubby had skipped the gym I headed out to the gym myself.  Then upon returning I forgot to drink a cup of coffee.  We rushed out the door to get to the Studio for my 9:15 class but no one showed up 🙁  Easter hang over maybe?

I really needed to go buy The Love Nugget some new clothes (major growth spurt recently) but decided to come home and relax instead.  It was significantly colder than it has been lately so I curled up on the couch with a hot mug of tea and did some online shopping.  Because what else do you do when you’re tired and don’t want to go out to shop?

I spent the majority of my shopping adventures on a website I’ve been loving, Moxie Jean ( <<–Affiliate Link).

Five ways to prepare your Toddler for Kindergarten

Five ways to prepare your Toddler for Kindergarten

I’m a big advocate for early childhood education.  As a former teacher, I’ve seen firsthand the benefits that it has.  Children who have attended pre-school tend to be more social, participate more in classroom discussion, have better fine motor skills and are often slightly ahead academically.  However, attending pre-school isn’t always an option for everyone.  To help to ensure children are still prepared for Kindergarten, there are some simple things that can be done at home with them.

Kids in the Kitchen #4 – Ants on a Log

Kids in the Kitchen #4 – Ants on a Log

Hey there!

I’m a little behind on these Kids in the Kitchen posts just because we’ve been so busy lately!  That and The Love Nugget has been more interested in playing outside than being in the kitchen.

He’s such an outdoorsy boy!

Today’s Kids in the Kitchen is one that is simple and probably one you’ve made before.  If you haven’t though, it’s a great way to get your kids to eat celery and sneak in some healthy fat from nut butter 🙂

Kids in the Kitchen #2 – Zucchini Pizza!

What kid doesn’t love pizza right!?!

It becomes even better when you get to add your own personal touches.  Which is why it’s an awesome meal to make at home with your kids and why I’m featuring it today for my Kid’s in the Kitchen series!
