Ummm can you believe Christmas is in ten days!?! ¬†Crazy how fast it snuck up this year. ¬†We just decorated our tree last night but haven’t finished the house quite yet. ¬†Moving had definitely set us back but it’s just one year…

Speaking of the house, we are beginning to get a little more settled in.  Not yet finished unpacking but close. Our goal is to have it done by next weekend since we are hosting Xmas this year.

Did you remember about the time change this weekend? ¬†We almost missed it but thank goodness for Facebook or we would have been awake at 5:00am! ¬†It sure does make the days feel so much longer. ¬†Yesterday seemed to last forever! ¬†Luckily we spent the evening with friends which made the longer day much more fun. ¬†I’ll get to that in a minute but first I wanted to thank the lovely Katie for hosting another wonderful Marvelous in My Monday!

Since I’ve been cutting back on my fitness and experiencing a little anxiety with my decrease in exercise, I thought instead of focusing on fitness like I normally do on Friday’s, I’d do something different. ¬†I will say that I am continuing to incorporate more active rest days along with my regular spin and circuit workouts. ¬†If you missed why I’ve decided to cut back you can read about it here but otherwise I’m moving on for today ūüôā

Toddler Tuesday – Annie’s Mac and Cheese and Food Dyes

Who didn’t love Mac and Cheese when they were growing up? ¬†I know I did! ¬†While we didn’t eat it all too often, we enjoyed it for sure! ¬†With chopped up hot dogs, extra cheese, baked in a casserole, with tuna, we loved it! ¬†Now as a mom, I’m learning the simplicity of having a few boxes stored in the cupboard for emergency use with my son. ¬†He loves it and it’s a life saver on nights when we’ve got nothing else for dinner. ¬†The problem is, most Macaroni and Cheese contains Yellow #5 and Yellow #6. ¬†Two harmful chemicals used to give our beloved mac and cheese that lovely orange-yellow glow.

Happy Friday!

Congrats to those of you who made it through your first week of the Summer Ready Challenge!

One week down and two more to go!  Not to bad right!?!  Did you get in any other exercise this week on top of the challenge?

I know I didn’t mention much about weekend workouts but my thought was to leave it up to you. ¬†Saturday and Sunday are included on the spreadsheet and I encourage you to continue with your challenge exercises throughout the weekend. ¬†However, if you’re muscles are fatigued, your tired, worn down or like you need a rest, do so! ¬† Maybe take a nice long nap instead or try a yoga class in place of the challenge exercises. ¬†Totally up to you!

A Funky What I Ate Wednesday

Good morning!

The past few days I’ve been in a weird funk that has been really annoying to say the least.¬† I feel horrible because the hubby left on an overnight¬†trip¬†Tuesday and I was “grumpy skunky “(as we call it), the day before he left.¬† Some great wife I am!¬† Anyways, when I’m feeling blah or just not myself I typically try a few things to get out of my rut.

1. Exercise РI know, big surprise there right!?!  My awesome boot camp class yesterday morning definitely helped me feel a little better!

2. Spend time playing with my Love Nugget – I mean, how can I not get my spirits lifted by this little guy ūüôā

3. Look at old photos – I love taking pictures and having them to look back on.¬† With technology it’s so simple to go back through photos from the past which always puts me in a better mood.

4. Go for a walk – Such a therapeutic thing to do that we are trying to do more of lately.¬† Not only is it good for your health, but it’s good for the soul!

5. Pinterest – I’ll spend so much time scouring the boards for motivational quotes, humorous pictures, videos, or anything else that will lift my spirits.

So, I thought I’d share a few of my Pinterest finds that helped to cheer me up yesterday.

Yeah, been there three times in the past two weeks.  And I was doing so good before!

Peas and Crayons

Unfortunately with my funk, came a lack of appetite so breakfast was nothing special.

1/2 a banana with sunflower butter, an egg with Dijon mustard and a few carrot sticks.  So boring!

After a super sweaty boot camp I came home and had one of these delicious protein bars.

So good!

When the Love Nugget woke up from his nap we headed to Whole Foods for lunch with friends.    However, I was so busy visiting and keeping tabs on my busy little guy that I forgot to snap a photo of my food.  It was the same as usual, salad with salmon, and lots of veggies!

I did snap a picture of this delicious beverage I enjoyed.

Later I snacked on a few veggies,

Then a little trail mix,

and slice or two of The Love Nugget’s apple.

I was planning to have a smoothie for dinner since I was solo but decided to go with my latest food obsession, roasted cabbage!

Along with some leftover shrimp, asparagus and kabocha squash.  Delicious!

I was pretty full after dinner but a little later some fresh watermelon called to me from the fridge so I had to snack on some.  So good!
