What I Ate Wednesday

What I Ate Wednesday

Happy humpday!

I’ve been loving Wednesday’s lately.  Half-way through another week of pregnancy!  Definitely on the count down these days.  Just about 4 weeks left!  Crazy right!?!  For some reason I have a feeling he’ll be arriving a week before but knowing my luck that won’t happen….  I’m keeping my fingers crossed though!

Anyway, since it’s Wednesday I thought I’d share a day of eats for a WIAW round-up.  I don’t do these all that often these days but they are fun to do every once in awhile.  So here’s a look of eats from the other day 🙂

Breakfast – The Hubby was home so made some eggs and sausage but all I wanted was a smoothie bowl.

Why I quite trying to name the way I eat.

Why I quite trying to name the way I eat.

So you may have noticed that I haven’t been mentioning Paleo eating as much as I was before.  There’s a few reasons really,

  1.  I haven’t been following as close to the Paleo diet as I once was.
  2. I felt like I was being a hypocrate since I didn’t eat 100% Paleo and enjoyed sharing other non-Paleo foods.
  3. I’ve quite trying to categorize or title the way I eat

A Funky What I Ate Wednesday

A Funky What I Ate Wednesday

Good morning!

The past few days I’ve been in a weird funk that has been really annoying to say the least.  I feel horrible because the hubby left on an overnight trip Tuesday and I was “grumpy skunky “(as we call it), the day before he left.  Some great wife I am!  Anyways, when I’m feeling blah or just not myself I typically try a few things to get out of my rut.

1. Exercise – I know, big surprise there right!?!  My awesome boot camp class yesterday morning definitely helped me feel a little better!

2. Spend time playing with my Love Nugget – I mean, how can I not get my spirits lifted by this little guy 🙂

3. Look at old photos – I love taking pictures and having them to look back on.  With technology it’s so simple to go back through photos from the past which always puts me in a better mood.

One of our engagement photos from 5 years ago 🙂

4. Go for a walk – Such a therapeutic thing to do that we are trying to do more of lately.  Not only is it good for your health, but it’s good for the soul!

5. Pinterest – I’ll spend so much time scouring the boards for motivational quotes, humorous pictures, videos, or anything else that will lift my spirits.

So, I thought I’d share a few of my Pinterest finds that helped to cheer me up yesterday.

This video which I had seen before but always cracks me up!

Yeah, been there three times in the past two weeks.  And I was doing so good before!

Bahahaaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AND…. this one is always my favorite,

Gets me every time!

If you like these you should come follow me on Pinterest!

Anyways, I’m feeling much better today and happy to be here for another WIAW hosted by the lovely Jenn!

Peas and Crayons

Unfortunately with my funk, came a lack of appetite so breakfast was nothing special.

1/2 a banana with sunflower butter, an egg with Dijon mustard and a few carrot sticks.  So boring!

After a super sweaty boot camp I came home and had one of these delicious protein bars.

So good!

When the Love Nugget woke up from his nap we headed to Whole Foods for lunch with friends.    However, I was so busy visiting and keeping tabs on my busy little guy that I forgot to snap a photo of my food.  It was the same as usual, salad with salmon, and lots of veggies!

I did snap a picture of this delicious beverage I enjoyed.

Later I snacked on a few veggies,

Then a little trail mix,

and slice or two of The Love Nugget’s apple.

I was planning to have a smoothie for dinner since I was solo but decided to go with my latest food obsession, roasted cabbage!

Along with some leftover shrimp, asparagus and kabocha squash.  Delicious!

I was pretty full after dinner but a little later some fresh watermelon called to me from the fridge so I had to snack on some.  So good!

In case you missed it, make sure to check out my giveaway for a Simply Sophia Maria tank!

QUESTIONS –

  • What do you do to get out of a funk?
  • Are you a fan of cabbage?  If so, any good recipes to share?

WIAW – Sugar Detox

WIAW – Sugar Detox

Good morning!

So you may remember I mentioned that I’m joining in with Laura at Mommyrunfast for a week long sugar detox.  I’ll actually be continuing it through the next month or so as the hubby and I jump back on the Paleo train.  I’ll go into more details later this week but I’m looking forward to getting back on track and in control of my sugar cravings!

So anyways, this week for What I Ate Wednesday, you won’t be seeing any sugar!  Yay!  As usual, I’m linking up with the lovely Jenn over at Peas and Crayons.

WIAW Paleo Edition #2

WIAW Paleo Edition #2

Monday, I went to the mailbox twice.  No mail… Then when the hubby got home I mentioned to him that the mail hadn’t arrived when I checked.  He ever so kindly reminded me that it was a holiday.  What!?!  Do I live in a box?  It was Martin Luther King Jr. Day and I had no idea.  Probably due to a few reasons.  1. Since I don’t go to work (although I work 24-7), I don’t look forward to days off.  2. I watch so little T.V. I don’t know what’s going on in our world.  3.  I’ve got so much on my mind lately that I completely tune things out.  Ahhh!  I think it was a wake up call to slow down and pay a little better attention to the world around me.  After all, it’s an important day and respect should be given 🙂 So, thank you Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for fighting so hard in what you believe!
