My Workouts Lately + One For You!

Happy Friday all!

Who’s doing the Friday dance?  If you’re doing the Whole 30 like me you’re probably not too excited for the weekend.  Weekends are hard when you are limited on food and beverage choices.  Friends invite you to come over for dinner and you have to decline because you don’t want to be that horrible picky friend who can’t eat any of their cooking.  Or you have the chance to go out for a date night but your options are so limited because everywhere cooks with canola oil (including many Whole Foods items) along with many other no foods.  You are dying for a nice glass of wine as you curl up with your honey to watch a movie at home but that’s a no, no too.


Yeah, weekends aren’t the best during the 30 days.  However, they are well worth it and if you started early this month like me you are in the home stretch! [Read more…]

Bye, Bye Cardio Junkie!

I used to be a cardio junkie.  I would head straight to the gym after work, hop on the treadmill to run 4-6 miles, then go into a Group X class where I would jump around trying to work up even more of a sweat.  I was under the impression that I needed to sweat more to burn more and in order to sweat I had to do cardio.

Luckily for me I’ve since learned that cardio isn’t actually as crucial in health and fitness as we once thought it was.  Most of you know I experienced some women related issues recently that forced me to cut back on my exercise.  In the process of doing so, I began paying more attention to what many people are saying about the long term effects of excess cardio on the body.

Fitness Friday + Motivation for the weekend!

Happy Friday!

Yesterday was such a whirlwind of a day trying to get ready for my best friends baby shower.  I had a very long to do list and a Love Nugget who did not want to cooperate that well.  Of course because that’s just how it goes with kids right!?!  Luckily the hubby came home early to help me out by keeping The Love Nugget busy 🙂

Since yesterday was such a long and busy day and we are taking off right after gymnastics today, this will be a fairly short post.  Just not enough time to really get wanted I wanted to say out so I’ll keep it short and sweet 🙂

To begin with, here’s a look at my workouts from this past week.

Saturday – 5 mile run

Sunday – Rest

Monday – Stroller Strides + 4 mile run

Tuesday – Boot camp + 1 mile run to the gym, 1 mile sprint during boot camp, and 2 mile loop home from the gym.

Wednesday – Cycle class and this WOD,


Thursday – 45 minute elliptical plus some abs

Friday – I was browsing for something that was mostly cardio and would get me sweating then I remembered this workout I created awhile back.


Definitely did the trick!

I thought with it being fitness Friday and all, it would be fun to share a few health and fitness quotes to keep you going through the weekend 🙂





Okay, we’re off to gymnastics then to my hometown!  I can’t wait to see my best friend and celebrate her little bundle of joy that will be here soon!  Hopefully I’ll be back Sunday with Meal planning but we’ll see how that goes…
