Man I’ve had a busy week! Between returning from Blend and getting ready for The Love Nugget’s birthday party on Saturday my week has been crazy! All good though and looking forward to celebrating our little guy tomorrow! Not really little anymore though.
Most mornings we have time to make and eat breakfast before running out the door. I actually enjoy a hot cooked breakfast every day and don’t mind making something for the whole family. Most days… Some days I’m lazy, we’re running late, or I’m off teaching and The Hubby is home getting The Love Nugget ready.
For those mornings it’s nice to have a quick, healthy, protein packed breakfast that will keep us full until we have time to eat a regular meal.
Happy Wednesday folks!
We’ve been enjoying another week of gorgeous weather here (sorry East Coaster’s) so have been spending as much time as possible outdoors. Daily walks, park play, picnic lunches and evening walks. Definitely been getting in a good amount of Vitamin D!
Anyway, most of you are probably here to check out what we ate yesterday since it’s Wednesday and all. AND because I don’t want to disappoint, here’s another round of What I Ate Wednesday! Don’t worry, that giveaway will be somewhere in here I promise 🙂
It’s Thursday! Woo hoo! One day closer to the weekend. I’ve been enjoying the feedback I’ve been receiving from you all based off my reader survey. I’ll tally up all the results and do a full post on it soon but in the meantime it sounds like you’d like more personal posts. Which I love! So I’ll go ahead and start working on that today by linking up with Amanda from Running with Spoons for her Thursday, Thinking out Loud. I’ve had a lot on my mind lately so what better way to get personal than to share some of those thoughts with you all 🙂
The Love Nugget and The Hubby have been lacking in the vegetable department lately. I try but they can be pretty picky when it comes to veggies.
Good morning friends!
First off, thank you for the support on yesterday’s post. I feel much more confident about my choices and am definitely going to stand my ground!
I’m beyond excited for today. The Hubby and I are taking off on a little getaway to Tahoe for a few days of hiking, relaxing and enjoying each other’s company.
Figs, figs, figs, figs! Can’t get enough lately! From Fig Jam to Fig muffins and most recently Fig Smoothies!
When the figs my mom brought me started to over ripen I cut up a bunch and tossed them into the freezer for future use. They’ve turned out to be a delicious addition to smoothies that we’ve all been enjoying. In particular, this Vanilla Fig Protein Smoothie using About Time Protein Powder.
It’s light, refreshing and packed with protein perfect for after a workout, an afternoon snack or an addition to a meal.
About Time uses protein isolate which is the purest from of whey protein. It contains 90% more protein and very little fat or lactose. This makes it an extremely clean, natural source of protein for anyone looking to add it in.
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup chopped frozen figs
- 1 scoop About Time Vanilla Protein Powder
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 cup ice
- 1 cup coconut water
- Put all ingredients into a blender and mix away!
- Enjoy 🙂
Now, you should head over to About Time to order your own protein using my code HHH for 25% off so you can make the smoothie too!
In case you missed it, I’m giving away race entry for two for the Nike Women’s Half in San Francisco and to $50 gift cards to Whole Foods! Check out yesterdays post for details on how to enter 🙂

Good morning! Guess what!?!
I’ve got another yummy recipe for you today! Two in one week is crazy for me right??? I’m sure your not complaining too much based on yesterdays response to those pancakes 🙂
Thank you by the way! Hope you all make them and enjoy them as much as we did! I’ll get to that recipe in just a minute but first let me thank the WIAW hostess for throwing another lovely shin dig.
