There’s always someone with bigger problems than yours.

There’s always someone with bigger problems than yours.

If you’re a new reader or missed a few posts let me fill you in a little on our lives lately.

After months of trying to get pregnant (10 to be exact), gaining weight, cutting back on exercise and changing my diet I finally found out we were expecting.  Only to have a miscarriage the very next day.   Just when I felt like I was feeling back to normal we decided to go visit family for a weekend.  We returned home to a burst pipe in our house which left so much water damage that our entire kitchen and the majority of our upstairs had to be gutted.  We had just remodeled our house three months earlier.

It’s actually even more bare now without the rest of the cabinets and wall to the garage.

WIAW – Hotel Life

WIAW – Hotel Life

Yay!  It’s Wednesday!  I feel like the camel doing the hump dance today.  One more day closer to the weekend makes me jump for joy!  Not that we have anything excited planned I’m just ready for this week to be over!

So in case you missed it we are currently staying in a hotel until our house is back to normal.  With absolutely no kitchen and only one working bathroom it’s a little hard to live there with a toddler.  Luckily we found a good hotel with a kitchen and separate bedroom that is close to our house since we’re back and forth each day.

Yes, it’s challenging at times but we’re making it work and keeping busy so we don’t get cabin fever.  One of the hardest things is not having my full kitchen and tools to prepare my meals as usual.  I’m sort of a creature of habit when it comes to eating and since my diet is somewhat restricted (so some say but I just think it’s healthy:-), it’s a little more difficult to make it work.  Not impossible though!

Here’s a peek at my hotel life and eats from a day as I join in the WIAW party!

Minted Art Prints, Baby Announcements, Party Invites and More!

As I write this I’m sitting on my couch in front of the fire, tea in hand and blanket covering my lap listening to the rain drops on my window.  Ahhh…. As much as I’ve been longing for spring lately, the sounds of a rainstorm can be so comforting.

I’d love to say that since we’re stuck indoors today that I’m getting a ton of work done but I’m not.  Instead I’m doing some online shopping.  That’s a good rainy day activity right!?!   Actually, it’s really a good anytime activity 😉

Ready to get “Pretty Muddy?”

Remember last summer when The Hubby and I ran our first mud run together?

We had a blast but I have to admit I wasn’t sure I’d ever want to participate in another mud run.  It was fun and all but I wanted something with a little more obstacles and a little more challenging.  I decided if I were to do another one I would want it to be with a group as more of a fun team activity.

Thursday Thoughts

Thursday Thoughts

So I had planned a different type of post for today but I just wasn’t in the mood.  To be honest, I feel like I’ve been in a funk all week.  Probably a combination of a few different things but let’s just say I’ve been feeling burnt out and tired this week which has left me a little grumpy. Anyway, rather than dwell on it I’m looking forward to a more positive day today with a gym trip, class at Growing Brilliant, then an evening at home with my little family.  Which always makes me feel better 🙂

Today I’m doing something a little different and joining in with Amanda at Running with Spoons for her segment called, Thinking Out Loud.

Sweet Potato Apple Chicken Hash and Grass-fed Beef Jerky!

Good morning!

Despite The Love Nugget being a bit under the weather this past weekend, we still had a pretty good one!  Luckily he’s got a fairly strong immune system and seems to kick his sickness’ pretty quickly.  That and he’s a tough little man!

Since it’s Monday I’m joining in with Katie at Healthy Diva Life for Marvelous in My Monday to share a few enjoyable things in our lives right now.

So you want to do the Whole30…

Happy Friday!

It doesn’t really seem like Friday though right?  I mean, even though I don’t work it seemed like yesterday was a Monday after The Hubby was off for New Years.  I’m sure it’s nice for those of you who do work and only had to do so for a few days before the weekend arrived 🙂  This is the first weekend in a long time that we aren’t going to be rushing to get stuff done around the house or hosting guests.  Don’t get me wrong, we definitely enjoyed having so many people over the past few weeks but it will be nice to just relax and enjoy some quit time.  I’m sure something will come up though 🙂  One thing on my agenda for this weekend is meal planning, grocery shopping and prepping for the week.  After a few weeks of indulging in treats, not working out as much and drinking more than normal, I’m feeling it!  So I’m looking forward to getting back on track with my clean eating ways.  I mentioned before that I’m thinking about doing the Whole30 again to support some family members who are interested in doing it. I’ve actually seen a bunch of people pinning Whole30 recipes and several friends saying they are thinking about giving it a go.  It’s definitely a great way to start the New Year and speaking from experience, well worth it!
