Happy Spring!!!

Happy Spring!!!

Good morning!

Happy Spring to you all!

Spring is my second favorite season, fall being my first, because it’s just such a cheery, pleasant time of year.  I think I would enjoy it more if spring-like temps would stick around for longer but in these parts we tend to go from nice, comfortable 70’s to 90’s by May if not sooner…  Which I’m desperately dreading.  The other day The Love Nugget and I were planting some flowers out front in the sun and it was SOOO hot!  Within just a few minutes I was a giant puff ball and couldn’t get my ring off.  I tend to swell even when I’m not pregnant so I’m not really looking forward to a warm third trimester.

On the plus side, the warmer weather has increased our outdoor time which is always pleasant this time of year.  This weekend we did some work in our yard, went on walks, and a pretty long bike ride.

St. Patrick’s Day Smoothie Bowl

St. Patrick’s Day Smoothie Bowl

Hi friends!

Hope you’ve had a great week!  Did anyone else have a hard time adjusting to the time change?  The first half of the week I was exhausted and literally took a nap everyday.  It wasn’t until yesterday that I felt a surge of energy and more like myself.  I’m sure it has to do with pregnancy too but I’m blaming it mainly on the time change.

Besides the exhaustion, the time change has been enjoyable for us in that we get some extra outdoor time in the evenings without mosquitos!  They were so bad earlier this month.  We’d be playing outside and as soon as it hit 4:30 they came out in swarms.  We’d have to call it a night and head indoors to avoid being attacked!  Now that it’s dark much later, we’ve been able to enjoy some more mosquito free time before having to head indoors for the evening 🙂

All this month we’ve been hearing talk of the leprechaun.  I honestly don’t remember the leprechaun being such a big deal when I was a kid but The Love Nugget has been obsessed!  “How will we catch him?”  “Will he be mad if we take his gold?”   “Do we smash him like a bug after we catch him?”  Question after question all day everyday….

Well today is the big day!  AND I was a slacker mom….

The leprechaun did stop by our house but we never had time to make a trap and that big, green breakfast I had planned didn’t happen.

All About Baby’s World!!!!

All About Baby’s World!!!!

I remember when I was pregnant with The Love Nugget from the moment we found out we were pregnant I dove head first into all things pregnancy and baby related.  I got the weekly updates, read all the baby books, and looked online for everything baby for many, many months.  This time around, things have been different.  Maybe it’s that he’s the second child, maybe it’s that I had a hard time really allowing myself to connect to the baby for so long because of the previous miscarriages.  Up until just a few weeks ago I was still fearful I was going lose the baby.  Even still there are moments when I panic something could go wrong.  However, now that I’m 26 weeks and baby is doing great I’m beginning to feel more confident that in 3 months I’ll have a newborn.  Which has made me more excited about all things baby!

I recently heard about a fun, baby centered event coming up in my area and can’t wait to attend!

Exhausted but Relaxed…

Exhausted but Relaxed…

Hi everyone!

Long time no chat.  Sorry I just had a lot going on last week and have been feeling quite exhausted lately.  Probably a combination of a few things.  I’m almost in the third trimester when they say exhaustion returns.  I’m working out a little more intensely since my placenta previa is gone which feels great but I do find I’m more tired after.  Lastly I’ve just been busy with less time to actually sit and relax.  This week will be a little more mellow so I’m looking forward to some down time.

Anyway, like I said above, my placenta previa is gone!!!!!  I had a doctor’s appointment last week and was thrilled to hear that news.  The not so great news was that our little dude is breech 🙁  One thing after another with this kid!  Luckily I’m only 26 weeks so still have some time for him to flip.  Fingers are triple crossed that he makes his way into the right direction.  I have an appointment in a few weeks to check on him before we take a short flight to Seattle.  If he hasn’t flipped by then I’m going to start some acupuncture and chiropractic treatments.  Any other tips?

Along with feeling more exhausted lately, I’ve been feeling a little more irritable.  Even with a few nights out last week with friends I’ve been much more on edge at home with my boys.  Especially The Love Nugget.  I’m sure some of that is the never-ending rain we’ve been having which has cooped us up indoors.  BUT I’m sure a huge part of it is pregnancy hormones….  Oh how I can’t wait to be done with this pregnancy!

Back to those girls nights though…  Last Wednesday a few friends and I went to Chefs Table for dinner which is always amazing.  Then we went to Studio Movie Grill to watch a special, “Girls Night Out” showing of 16 Candles.

A Day in Our Life

A Day in Our Life

Hi friends!

How’s it going?  It’s almost Friday!!!! Yay for the weekend!

I don’t remember the last time I did a day in the life post.  BUT then again, I don’t remember what I ate for dinner last night.  Pregnancy brain is off the hook lately!  Regardless, I’m checking in with a day in the life post for ya’ll today 🙂

5:30 – Uh oh, overslept and luckily woke up with enough time to wake up The Love Nugget, grab us some protein bites and make it to the gym in time for my 6:00am class.  Thankfully I only have to demonstrate because I was quite groggy…

Crabs Galore and Rain for Days

Crabs Galore and Rain for Days

Hi friends!

How was your weekend?  Ours went by way too fast as usual even though we didn’t really do all that much.  The next few weekends we are home getting things done around the house.  I feel like I’m starting to nest as I’m planning the nursery, cleaning things out and begging The Hubby to get the patio done.  Unfortunately the rain has put a dent in our backyard landscaping plans.  We managed to get the grass and most the plants in then the rain came.  AND it won’t be stopping anytime soon 🙁

The Love Nugget’s Birth Story

The Love Nugget’s Birth Story

Since I didn’t start writing this blog until after The Love Nugget was born I never really shared his birth story with you.  Or maybe I did years ago and have forgotten.  In either case, I figured I’d relive those days by posting about it since I’ll be once again going through it all again at some point in the near future 🙂

The Love Nugget was due on May 12th, 2011.

Yard Progress and Productive Weekend at Home

Yard Progress and Productive Weekend at Home

Hey there!

Long time no chat!  I have to admit I haven’t been as into blogging lately as I once was.  I seem to go through these phases where I’ve got a lot to say, then some where I just don’t have anything at all.  So I’ve decided rather than just rambling on all the time to just take breaks on those days and check back in with you later 🙂

Anyway, how was your weekend?  Did you have spring-like weather like we did?  This time of year we always get little teasers of spring then it starts raining again.  Which is what it’s supposed to do this week.  70’s for a few days, then rain over the weekend 🙁  At least we’ll have our grass put in by then so we’ll no longer have a mud pit!

Yep that’s right!  We’ve had landscapers working hard on our yards for the past few weeks and they are supposed to be done by Tuesday!  I can’t tell you how excited I am to finally have grass instead of mud.  I literally sweep everyday 🙁  So to say I’m just a little happy is an understatement.  We’ve still got some work to do.  Get bark, tear down the play room, pour concrete and plant a garden but we’re over half way there!
