Summer Reading with Disney Story Central!

Summer Reading with Disney Story Central!

Summer’s here get hot and even though we are barely into June we’re already experiencing temperatures over 100 degrees!  It’s pretty miserable especially when we’re also in a drought and can’t head outdoors to play in water to cool off.  So with an active four year old I’m having to find fun things to do indoors to keep him entertained.  I try to keep him busy with painting, playing with playdough, building indoor forts, reading books, dancing to music etc.  Like a normal 4 year old these days though he really enjoys watching T.V. or playing on an iPad.  Since we limit his technology time we try to make sure we don’t over do it with this.  When he does get technology time, we try to make sure that it’s learning centered.

Lately we’ve been enjoying allowing him to read interactive books on Disney Story Central.

5:00am – Alarm goes off and I get up to drink a glass of warm lemon water and eat a hard-boiled egg before heading out the door.

I Promise Not to Suffer by Gail Storey

I Promise Not to Suffer by Gail Storey

I love finding a new book to read and while I may not get a chance to read all that often, I almost always get in a few chapters before turning out the lights.  Actually, The Hubby and I joke that we have become such an old married couple because every night we both end up in bed around 9:30 propped up with our books but pass out within a few pages.

Awhile back I read the book Wild and really enjoyed it.  If you haven’t heard of it, it’s book about a woman who hikes the Pacific Coast Trail by herself.  Since I enjoyed it so much, I was excited when I got the chance to read and review I Promise Not to Suffer  which was again by a woman who had hiked the PCT (Pacific Coast Trail).
