Long time no talk. Since it’s been awhile, I thought it might be nice to have a little virtual coffee date. So grab a Cup o’ Joe and get comfy, let’s chat!
If we were having coffee today I’d be drinking a half caff almond milk latte with a little bit of honey. Half caff because after so long of not having caffeine, my body is SO sensitive to it. Luckily my favorite local coffee shop, Origin, makes a pretty good decaf latte 🙂
Anyway, enough with the boring stuff let’s get on to catching up shall we?
If we were having coffee I’m sure you’d ask how things were going with little Squish.
Who would also be with us on our coffee date 🙂 I’d tell you that he just turned two months (stay tuned for that update) and is doing so good! So far he’s much more easy going than The Love Nugget ever was and is such a happy baby. Well, unless he’s hungry or really tired. Other than that he sleeps pretty good, smiles, coos and is just a pretty good little guy. Thank goodness!
If we were having coffee I’d of course ask how you were doing and then you’d most likely ask the same. I’d tell you that I’m feeling really good these days and enjoying getting back into the routine of working out. I’d also tell you that I’m working really hard to be patient about losing the baby weight. Which is definitly not just melting off like everyone says it will…. BUT I’m okay with that because I know the most important thing is feeding my little guy 🙂
If we were having coffee we’d most likely talk about the kids going back to school. I’d tell you that The Love Nugget started Kindergarten this year and is absolutely loving it! He has already made a bunch of new friends and seems to be doing really good! Me on the other hand have been having a hard time getting used to the early drop off time and craziness of having two kids. We have to be at school at 7:50 and it’s quite exhausting trying to get both boys up, feed them both, then off to school. We are getting the hang of it though and I do enjoy the three hours I have with just Jax. Even though right now he sleeps most the time… At least I can get some work done!
Speaking of those 3 hours… I’d probably tell you how annoyed I am that nearly every other district in our area switched to full day kinder except ours. I really feel that this should be universal and that those kids going to full day are getting more of something than my son is. More play time? More extracurricular activity time? 5 hours compared to 3 hours and 20 minutes is quite a big difference!
If we were catching up, I’d probably mention how good I’ve been feeling with the nutrition plan I’ve been on. Towards the end of my pregnancy my sugar cravings were quite out of control so as soon as I could I started following a modified version of the 21 Day Fix. MAN did it make a huge, almost immediate, difference. That and adding back in my daily superfoods shake. My sugar cravings are now gone and I’m feeling so much better loading up my body with veggies, protein and complex carbs. I’d tell you if you were interested in joining the package is on sale through this month and that my next challenge group starts in September!
Dinner of baked salmon, baked sweet potatoes, and veggies. Yum!
If we were having coffee I’d tell you how excited I am for fall. So much so that I almost busted out my fall candles the other day. BUT The Hubby told me it was too soon… We’d probably daydream about crisp cool weather, pumpkin lattes, chunky sweaters and boots for a little bit before we had to bid our farewells. Mostly because I’d have to rush out to pick up The Love Nugget from school!

It might have been a short coffee date, but it’s always great to catch up and visit with friends! Tell me, what would you share if we were having a coffee date?
