Birthday and Valentine’s Day weekend

Birthday and Valentine’s Day weekend

Good morning!

Hope you all had an amazing weekend!   I sure did!

As I mentioned on Friday, I celebrated my birthday this past weekend.  The big 35!  Yeah, I feel so old!  Especially since I’m pregnant and definitely feeling aches, pains and extra tired.  Regardless, the weekend was a lot of fun and I was spoiled by my boys!

We kicked off the weekend Friday evening at Skipolini’s for dinner with friends.  Trying to get pictures with kids and adults in a crowded restaurant is near impossible.  But one of my friends did manage to snap a pic of these boys who were having a blast running around together.

They’ve been friends since birth and love each other!

Saturday I woke up and had an hour to myself to relax and get a few things done before the rest of the house woke up.  On the weekends, The Love Nugget usually wakes up and heads to our room to hang with The Hubby but he headed straight downstairs to wish me a happy birthday then snuggle with me on the couch.  It was so sweet 🙂  I was showered with gifts including a gorgeous necklace from Anthro he picked out himself, and a massage/facial for later that day from The Hubby.  Then we were off to breakfast at High Hand with my cousin and her beau.

I’m wearing my new necklace from The Love Nugget 🙂

We cruised around a little running a few errands then I went off on my own to get my facial and massage.  Unfortunately, she called and cancelled just before so I opted for a pedi/mani instead 🙂

The Hubby had booked us dinner reservations at a restaurant I’d been wanting to go to, Hawks.  So we got ready, left The Love Nugget with a sitter and headed out on our own.

Mini photographer 🙂

We enjoyed a delicious dinner and wonderful alone time for a few hours.  I had the scallops (cooked well) which were delicious!

We shared a special, Hawks candy bar for dessert which was amazing!

Sunday I woke up and got in a little garage workout before cooking my boys breakfast and getting their gifts out.

Special v-day baskets including some goodies for our family movie night later 🙂

Red Velvet pancakes with cream cheese drizzle, bacon and blueberries for my boys, smoothie bowl for me 🙂

We lounged around getting a few things done around the house most the morning including a family yoga session.

Sometime mid morning I received a gorgeous bouquet of flowers from The Hubby delivered to our door.

Such a good hubby 🙂

Then packed up a lunch and headed out to enjoy the gorgeous weather.

We went on our furthest ride yet with The Love Nugget to a park about 2 miles away.  He did great!

A picnic lunch at the park 🙂

Soccer Sunday!

The warm weather had us craving froyo so after a while we came home and hopped into the car to head to the yogurt shop for a little treat!

Then we went home and all took naps 🙂

For dinner that night we opted to pick up sushi rather than cook or go out.  We put on Charlie Brown Valentine’s Day and enjoyed our dinner in the living room.

I surprised the boys with some special treats for dessert.

Confetti for The Love Nugget, Red Velvet for The Hubby and a mini cherry pie for me.  Which was really not good at all.  Icing no the cupcake should stick to cupcakes 😉

After The Love Nugget went to bed, we curled up and watched another episode of The Killing before going to bed.  A very fun weekend filled with good food, treats, fun and lots of love!  Couldn’t have asked for a better birthday 🙂  Well, a nice glass of wine would have been great but oh well!  Next year 🙂
