Hi friends!

So you know how I was saying I’ve been feeling so much better lately?  I think I jinxed myself as yesterday I didn’t feel as hot.  I woke up with a headache and it pretty much stuck around all day.  I’m pretty sure it’s from over doing it the two days before.  I was just feeling so great that i pushed it a little harder than I should.  Nothing crazy just evidently a little more than this pregnant mama can take.  So I took it easy yesterday with only a few short walks.

I have a doctors appointment today which I’m looking forward to as I haven’t seen my little guy since a few weeks before Christmas!

I’m pretty sure he’s still doing good since I can feel him moving around and hear his heart beat at least once a week.  Speaking of hearing his heart beat, that’s my first of todays Things I’m Loving Lately!

Fetal Doppler – I’ve been loving being able to check in with my little guy whenever I want to with this fetal doppler my SIL let me borrow.  After 4 miscarriages I’ve definitely spent a lot of time worrying through this pregnancy so this has been a big piece of mind for me.

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Bites – I’ve been craving peanut butter like crazy which is funny because before I was pregnant I didn’t really love it.  I mean, I enjoyed it but was more likely to eat cashew or almond butter over peanut butter.  Now however I want peanut butter all the time!  I’m doing the 21 Day Fix (modified of course to accommodate my growing bump) right now with an awesome group of ladies and made these “treat” balls to enjoy for a snack every once in awhile.  They are perfect for those mornings I wake up and workout first thing as I typically need just a little something to get me going.

Peanut Butter Oat Bites

Ingredients

  • 1 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter or other nut butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. sea salt
  • 1-2 tbsp. water if needed
  • 2 tbsp. cranberries

Instructions

  1. Place oats into a food processor and pulse until chopped to desired consistency.
  2. Add in peanut butter, vanilla, cinnamon, and sea salt.
  3. Blend until well combined and sticking together. If it's not sticking good, add in a little water or more peanut butter.
  4. Add cranberries and pulse a few times until mixed in.
  5. Roll into bite size balls and store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

These have just a hint of sweetness but if you’d like to up the sweetness factor just add a little honey.

Hydroflask – A few of my clients at the gym had these water bottles and mentioned how much they loved them.  Just before Christmas I finally made it to REI to purchase one for myself and absolutely love it!  It keeps my water cold for well over 24 hours and I find I drink way more when I’ve got it with me.  Which is all the time 🙂  I gifted one to The Hubby for Christmas and he’s equally obsessed.  I’ll most likely be stocking up on a few more before our upcoming Disneyland trip.

Bike Rides with my Nugget – While he’s known how to ride a bike for awhile now, he was on a much smaller bike that didn’t have any breaks.  The other day we got him on his “big boy” bike and he took off!  Now he jams on our bike rides and I literally have to pedal fast to keep up with him!  We’ve been getting out for rides together whenever we can catch a break in the rain 🙂

  2. How does that Doppler thing work? I saw one online but the reviews were terrible. I figured it would cause me more anxiety if I couldn’t hear the hearbeat. I’m doing fine waiting the four weeks til my appointments and now I’m in the second trimester I feel a lot less anxiety. I could understand why you’d want one though!

      I think if it weren’t for my history I’d be fine without it. It can be hard to find the heartbeat sometimes especially early on. The further along I get the easier it gets but now I can feel him moving so much I don’t feel the need for it as often.

      It’s great but can also be frustrating and hard to find the heart beat. If it weren’t’ for my history I’d probably be fine without it but just get so nervous after all we’ve been through. Although now that I can feel him moving around so much I don’t use it as often 🙂
