Festive Family Time

Festive Family Time

I just love this time of year.  The lights, the sounds, the smells, and mostly the joy all around it’s just such a fun, magical time of year.  Especially with a 4 year old.  There’s nothing better than seeing their face light up when they hear a christmas song or see a house decked out in Christmas lights.  It truly brings a whole new joy to Christmas 🙂

We’ve been really enjoying all the fun, festive holiday themed things happening in our area so far this month.  This past weekend The Love was in the local holiday parade with his school.

Then after we got to see Santa before the Christmas tree lighting.

The next day we had plans to get his annual picture taken with Santa at Enchanted Images.  When he woke up and I told him we were going to see Santa again he said, “But we already saw him…”  I had to explain that the other santa was just a helper and this Santa is the real deal.

So he was prepared with what he wanted for Christmas 🙂

We were supposed to go to a cycling class with The hubby’s work that afternoon but we came home to discover that our dogs had gotten into a box of See’s Chocolate I had purchased as a gift…  So I had to stay home to monitor them while The Hubby got to go cycle 🙁  To say I was bummed out would be an understatement.  It was probably better I didn’t go anyways since I’m still fighting off this cold.  It’s seriously lasting forever!  So rest and Parenthood was what the doctor ordered.  Oh and the dogs were just fine.  We have a friend who is a vet and talked us through it so they are all good.

We’ve got all sorts of fun holiday things planned as the month continues.  Holiday parties, more visits with Santa, Gingerbread house making and my annual Favorite Things Party!  Can’t wait for that one!  I’m sure this month will fly by so I’m trying to stay on top of all our holiday shopping.  In case you missed it, I shared some great gift ideas for girls and tomorrow I’ll be posting some ideas for the boys so stay tuned!
