What We Ate Wednesday + Kid Made Pizza!

Hey guys!  Man this week has been busy and only getting more so!  Thank goodness it’s Wednesday already.  Half way down!

Today I’m popping in real quick to share some eats from earlier this week and join Jen for her WIAW party 🙂

This week I thought I’d switch it up a bit and show you what The Love Nugget and I ate on Monday rather than Tuesday like I normally do.

Monday started at home with a yummy breakfast! I had sautéed kale and chicken sausage topped with an egg and cantaloupe on the side.  The Love Nugget had a fried egg, a zucchini muffin and cantaloupe with cottage cheese.  He ate a second egg after finishing his breakfast.  Growing boy!

We headed to the gym then had a bunch of errands to run so I refueled with a prohydrate (use code HHH to order :),

along with a few Nutty J’s cashews shared with The Love Nugget.

Two of my friends from back home created Nutty J’s Nut Shack and they make the most amazing glazed nuts.  I ordered some for my roomies at Blend and they sent me a few extra packs 🙂  Definitely check them out for some awesome organic, non GMO, natural nuts!

Once we were back home it was time for lunch!

Salad with beets, cucumbers, avocado and goat cheese for me.  Mini pizza, carrots, and cherries for The Love Nugget.

Notice how cute that little smiling pizza is?  The Love Nugget had a blast making his own pizzas and they were so simple I barely had to do a thing!

I set up a pizza making station with a split organic English Muffin, some Adele’s chicken Apple Sausage, olives, cheese and sauce.  When he heard pizza he quickly put his apron on, washed his hands and got to work!

Like I said I didn’t have to do too much.  He took his time spreading his sauce, sprinkling his cheese and getting creative with his toppings.

Of course there was some sampling that happened too 🙂

He had a blast making his own lunch and ate it all!

A little later ran out to the park and Target so took a few snacks for the road.

Kombucha and Gimme Sea Snacks 🙂

Dinner was really good and pretty simple.  Pizza Sweet Potato Pasta from Against All Grain.

Sweet potato noodles, chicken sausage, zucchini, pepperoni and pizza sauce.  His was topped with cheese, mine was served over spinach.  Yum!

  • Do you and your little eat the same meals?
  • What’s a fun meal your kiddo likes to help make?

  1. Your little guy is so cute with his apron! Love that he is so into cooking. My little guy likes to help too, but we’re at that tough stage where he wants to do it all himself so it can become a bit of power struggle. I try to get as much set up ahead of time as I can so that he can really do most of it himself, totally not worth the battle!

Ugh, that stage passes! Okay well, maybe not completely. At least not yet. My son is very strong willed and likes to have control (not sure where he gets it from 😉 but has learned that when we are cooking he has to be patient and listen to directions. It took a lot of training though and a lot of patience on my part!

  2. Awww, love that you had your little man partake in making his own pizza. I think it’s great that you’re getting him in the kitchen at such a young age. He looks like he had a blast!

    • Giselle Schroer says:

He LOVES to be in the kitchen helping so it’s always fun to give him a task to do. Plus it helps him to be a little more enthusiastic about his meals 🙂

  3. All your meals look delicious, as usual.

Ava isn’t old enough to cook her own meals but I love the idea of her getting creative in the kitchen! We do eat a lot of the same meals, unless I am craving something different!!

I started having Ayden help me in the kitchen really early on. He would help pour, mix, blend etc. It definitely took some patience but now he’s got it down so I don’t have to monitor as much and it’s more fun for both of us 🙂
