Reader Survey Results and Bloggiversary #2!

Reader Survey Results and Bloggiversary #2!

Okay I 100% meant to share the survey results with you last week but completely spaced.  I blame mom brain 😉

I can’t tell you how much I appreciate all of you who took the time to participate in my survey.  It helps so much to get some feedback on this little blog thing I’ve got going on here.

So, let’s take a look at the results shall we…

Question #1 – How long have you been reading My Healthy Happy Home?

Not long, I’m a new reader –

4.88%   Welcome and thank you for reading!

6 months – 1 year  – 43.90%

1 year – 2 years  –  36.59%

2 + years!  – 14.63%  xoxo!!!!

Questions #2 – How often do you read and leave comments on blogs?
Frequently – 17.07%
Occasionally  – 46.34%
Never – 36.59%
This questions pleasantly surprised me.   When I started blogging I spent so much time reading and commenting on blogs.  It got overwhelming and draining.  I realized I was reading blogs I didn’t even really enjoy just to comment in hopes they’d read my blog too.  It wasn’t until just this past year that I realized how silly that was.  I never started blogging to get some magic number of blog readers.  I blog for those that enjoy what I write and for myself.  However, there are times I look at the comments on someone else’s blog compared to mine and feel a little bummed.  So seeing that many of you don’t really comment on other blogs made me feel better 🙂
Questions #3 – Do you have a blog?
Yes let’s be blogger friends – 26.83%
No I just enjoy reading – 73.17%
I was a little surprised by how many of you are non bloggers!  I guess living in this blogging bubble you sometimes feel like the only people who are reading are other bloggers.  So glad I’m reaching so many outside of the blogger realm 🙂
Question #4 – How do you feel about the frequency of posts (typically once a week)?
Perfect!  I enjoy catching up every weekday – 68.29%
I miss reading on the weekends – 0 🙂
I’d prefer to read more than once a day – 2.44%
I’d still read even if you didn’t post everyday – 29.27%
This made me so happy!  I feel guilty sometimes not posting more frequently when I see other bloggers posting two, sometimes three times a day!  So to hear that most of you prefer once a day made me smile 🙂
Questions #5 – How do you feel about sponsored posts?
I like them!  I enjoy learning about new products I might be interested in – 31.71%
Meh, I don’t mind them – 60.98%
I dislike them – 7.32%
I greatly appreciate your feedback on this one.  I know some people majorly can’t stand sponsored posts but I have to admit that I’ve discovered some of my favorite products from other people’s sponsored posts.  I truly try to only feature products that I feel strongly about supporting or 100% agree with using.
Question #6 – How do you feel about giveaways?
Love them and would like to see more – 31.71%
I’m neutral – 65.85%
I think they are annoying – 2.44%
Those of you that enjoy them you’re in luck this week!
Questions #7 –  What types of posts do you enjoy reading the most on My Healthy Happy Home?
Personal posts (just day in the life stuff) – 87.80%
Recipes – 60.98%
Paleo/Primal Features – 39.02%
Workouts – 36.59%
Crafts and kid activities – 39.02%
Kids in the kitchen – 31.71%
What I Ate Wednesday – 53.66%
Friday Favorites – 65.85%
Marvelous Monday’s – 48.70%
I have to admit it was surprising to see how many of you enjoy personal posts.  I don’t know why but the past few months I feel like I’ve been shying away from these types of posts.  Mainly because I felt like I shared so much negativity this past year that I was a bit depressing.  I figured you were all tired of hearing about my life but am happy to see you still enjoy these types of posts.   This was also interesting because based on my analytics, my top posts tend to be recipes, mainly paleo.  So I thought those areas would have a higher percentage.
Questions #8 – What would you like to see more of here on My Healthy Happy Home?
Personal posts – 34.29
Recipes – 11.43
Paleo/Primal – 8.57%
Workouts – 5.71%
Crafts and kids activities – 8.57%
Kids in the kitchen – 11.43%
What I ate Wednesday – 5.71%
Friday Favorites – 11.43%
Marvelous Mondays – 2.85%
I hear you and I’ll start sharing more personal posts as well as recipes that are family/kid based 🙂  And of course, Friday Favorites!
A few of you left super sweet comments about anything else you’d like to see here on My Healthy Happy Home.
“Great job!”
“Can’t think of a thing!”
“Love reading about you and your sweet family!”

Seriously THANK YOU all from the bottom of my heart!  I so appreciate the feedback and will definitely take all your responses to heart 🙂
