My Workouts Lately + One For You!

Happy Friday all!

Who’s doing the Friday dance?  If you’re doing the Whole 30 like me you’re probably not too excited for the weekend.  Weekends are hard when you are limited on food and beverage choices.  Friends invite you to come over for dinner and you have to decline because you don’t want to be that horrible picky friend who can’t eat any of their cooking.  Or you have the chance to go out for a date night but your options are so limited because everywhere cooks with canola oil (including many Whole Foods items) along with many other no foods.  You are dying for a nice glass of wine as you curl up with your honey to watch a movie at home but that’s a no, no too.

Yeah, weekends aren’t the best during the 30 days.  However, they are well worth it and if you started early this month like me you are in the home stretch!

Anyway, today I thought I’d touch on something I haven’t talked much about around here lately.  My workouts!  Which have been pretty great lately.  I think part of that is due to the extra energy I have with my Whole 30 eating.  I remember this from the first time around especially around the third week.  I have the energy and desire to workout three times a day if I could!  But… I know that’s not best for my body so I’m definitely not taking it to that extreme.  That said I have been pushing myself a bit harder just because it feels so good and after so much time taking it easy I’m craving it!

Here’s a look at my week of workouts from this past week.

Saturday – Spin Class

Sunday – Rest

Monday – Taught Cardio and Weights without doing too much movement as I was mainly monitoring others.  This workout from Blonde Ponytail in my garage later plus this core workout.

Tuesday – Joined some Crossfit folks at the gym for an early morning Body weight WOD!

20 min time cap for;

20 burpees

400 meter run

20 box jumps

400 meter run

40 air squats

400 meter run

20 push ups

400 meter run

20 burpee box jumps

It was just the workout I was hoping to do and it was awesome!

Wednesday – Taught Cardio and Weights and did some of this workout with the class;

Thursday –  This awesome workout from Blonde Ponytail.  It was killer!

Friday – Active Rest, long walk with my boys  planned for today 🙂

Saturday – Heading to the gym to join some peeps for a crossfit bootcamp or spin.  Either will be fun 🙂

Sunday – Hot Yoga

It might look not I’m getting in a ton of rest with some sort of fitness pretty much daily.  However, when the class that I teach includes a lot of monitoring and correcting form than actually doing the workout with the class.  I usually do the warm up with them, some of the weights then some of the cardio but I’m definitely not doing a full workout each day I teach.  So some days I’ll workout on top of that or I’ll go for a walk to make it more of an active rest day.  It’s working for me now so I’m going with it!

Right now I’m really enjoying my fitness routine.  I feel like I’m keeping a pretty good balance between strength trainings, a little cardio, some yoga and walking (when it’s not too cold).   I’m hoping my body continues to respond well to this as I’ve been feeling great so far!  I’ll keep you posted though 🙂

  1. I can totally relate to the weekend thing with Whole30- it definitely take away some of the excitement! But just one more full week plus a few days!

  2. I am super pumped its friday..

    I don’t do the entire class for my boot camp classes but when I teach Group Power I have to do the entire class since it is choreographed. I like being able to walk around and correct form during my boot camp classes!
