Reflecting on 2014

Reflecting on 2014

When I look back at all that has happened this past year it’s easy to see we’ve had our fair share of let downs.

Miscarriage #1 in February

House flooded in March

Lived in a hotel March – June

Second miscarriage in July

Thousands of dollars in dental work June – July for me 🙁  I hate the dentist!

Third miscarriage in December

While it would be easy to sit here and say, poor me, poor us, blah, blah, blah.  I’m choosing not to.  New Years Eve as The Hubby and I reflected on the past year we, as usual brought up our unfortunate luck.  It was then and there that I decided we just needed to stop looking at the negative.  Yes, we’ve had a tough year.  However, like I always say, things could be so much worse.  I heard a quote the other day and realized how important it is for anyone having personal struggles.

So I choose to see all the positive things that happen in my life rather than focus on the negative 🙂

Now back to this past year, despite those negative things, there were also lots of happy times.

We celebrated our new home with lots of friends for New Years 2013.

My hubby planned and organized a great birthday party for me in February.

I got to enjoy a fun girls weekend in April to celebrate a friends birthday,

We went to Disneyland and Glamping in May,

We moved back home in June,

We spent a few days relaxing in Fort Bragg in June,

We went to San Diego to celebrate a friends wedding in July,

The Love Nugget started school in August,

We went to Santa Cruz with friends in September,

I ran the Nike Women’s Half Marathon in October,

So you see, yes, we’ve had our fair share of struggles this year, but the happy times definitely outweigh those struggles which is why I’m choosing to focus on those memories 🙂
