Starting the New Year off Fresh with the Whole30!

Happy New Year!

How is it January!?!  So crazy but to be honest, I’m so ready for a New Year.  If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile you’ve probably noticed this hasn’t been the best year for us.  Pregnancy losses, house floods, hotel living… Needless to say we are ready for the New Year!

To kick off this year I’m taking a step towards better health.  A few years back when I did the Whole 30 I never felt better!  I was sleeping better, had more energy, less sugar cravings, clearer skin, healthier nails and most importantly, my menstrual cycle came back.  So I’m jumping in for another round and would love for you to join me

Doing it with others is one of the best ways to ensure success.  Not only does it help to hold you accountable, but you get meal ideas, tips, and experiences from others which makes it a million times easier!

Of course I’ll be posting meal ideas, recipes, tips, etc. to help along the way but the best resource is the book, It Starts with Food.  I can’t say enough how important it is to either read this book before or while you are going through the process.    It gives the science and reasoning behind the elimination of certain foods as well as meal ideas, tips, and strategies.

If you don’t have time, access or the means to read get the book, there are a ton of resources on this website.  Dallas and Melissa also just released a cookbook to go along with the program.  While I haven’t purchased it yet I’m sure it’s extremely helpful and filled with delicious recipes!

  2. I’ve been thinking about doing a whole30 this month. I read the book last summer and have been incorporating most of the concepts regularly but never did it for real. I think it would be a good experience, especially after a few weeks of so much sugar:) It’s good to know that if I do decide to do this that you will be such a great resource!

  3. So are you officially starting on Monday?? I was wanting to give this a shot for the new year. I still have the book on my Kindle and haven’t read it, nor have I tried the Whole 30 yet. I decided this was the year!! Maybe I could get it all read this weekend. Anyway, I may want to join in with you. Thanks for sharing your menu!! I will look it all over this weekend and let you know if I am in for sure! 🙂
