It’s time for another round up of Marvelous happenings from our weekend! I enjoy recapping the fun times we had on Monday’s as I feel like it’s such a great way to kick off the week. Of course thank you as always to the lovely Katie at Healthy Diva Life for hosting this little soiree 🙂
Without further ado, here’s a look at our marvelous weekend!
Friday I got to see my best friend, her husband and their new baby girl Emery!
You may remember my bestie from back in April when I threw her a baby shower. We don’t get to see each other all that often since they lives in Seattle. They were driving through town on their way to Tahoe for a family vacation so we got to spend a few hours catching up over lunch. I also got in my baby fix squeezing those adorable cheeks! So cute!
Later that afternoon when The Hubby got home, we headed back to The Fountains for the First Friday street fair which turned out to be a disappointment. I was hoping they’d have more kid stuff but there wasn’t much except for a face painter, balloon animal maker and a girl dressed up as Tinkerbell. We looked at classic cars and walked around before heading home to have a little Fiesta.
We ended the evening by watching an episode of True Blood before heading to bed.
Saturday I woke up early to make the 7:45 boot camp class. I had suggested the trainer lead the class in a Tabata style workout (which he had never heard of before) so I got there earlier than normal to help him set up. It turned out to be a great class and everyone said it was a killer workout. Great way to start the day! I came home, changed then we headed out the door for a Crossfit get together put on by The Hubby’s gym at the lake.
It was a gorgeous day and a family event so we brought The Love Nugget along too.

The Hubby and I did a quick WOD together which consisted of AMRAP of 5 push-ups with egg pass, 10 air squats with egg toss and 15 partner sit-ups with egg pass. It was fun to get to workout with him as we never really get a chance to anymore. Then we showed off our awesome family hoola-hooping skills 😉
Okay I’m lying, we sucked. Especially me! I’m horrible at hoola-hooping!
Later that evening we went to a friends house for dinner.
These two had a blast playing together and we enjoyed some wine, cocktails and a very marvelous dinner of grilled halibut, zucchini and a spinach salad.
Sunday morning after breakfast we packed up a lunch and headed to Amador to pick up a few wine shipments and enjoy a little picnic.
It was a gorgeous day and we came home with quite a bit of yummy wine since we were behind on picking up the past few shipments. Works for me!
Later that afternoon the Love Nugget wanted to make cookies for Dada and he needed some protein goodies for the week so I made a batch of Chocolate Chip Protein Cookies!
- 1 cup oats
- 1/4 cup coconut flour
- 1/4 cup vanilla protein powder
- 2 tbsp. flaxseed meal
- 1/3 cup coconut clakes
- 1/4 cup almond butter
- 1 egg + 1 egg white
- 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp. coconut oil
- 1/4 cup mini dark chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large bowl, combine oats, coconut flour, flaxseed, protein powder and coconut flakes.
- In a separate bowl, mix together almond butter, eggs, applesauce, vanilla and coconut oil.
- Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until well combined.
- Mix in chocolate chips then spoon onto a parchment lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes then cool on a wire rack.
I shared one with The Love Nugget and they were pretty good!
