Sunday Meal Planning

Sunday Meal Planning

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Do you have any fun festivities planned for today?  Did you celebrate in any way yesterday?  It’s funny how much things change as you get older.  This year I didn’t even realize it was St. Patrick’s Day but in the past I would have been planning our day for weeks!  Most of those plans would have included green food, green clothes, green glitter and of course, green beer!

Nowadays we celebrate in a much more mild mannered way…

Okay so maybe the wine wasn’t green but the bottle was a tinted green which was fitting for the evening.  Plus it was tasty!

Today will be a mellow day at home for the most part.  I’m planning to make a trip to the gym and the hubby is hoping to get some yard work done.  Nothing too exciting for our Sunday which works for me!

I got our meal planning done yesterday and was able to plan for the first few nights with what we have at home already.  Which means I don’t have to grocery shop until later this week.  Yay!

Sunday – Ahi Tuna Burgers

Monday – Butternut Squash and Chicken Sausage Skillet

TuesdayPaleo Chili (frozen from last time) or out?

Wednesday – Chicken Fajitas

ThursdayArtichoke Lemon Pesto Chicken Spaghetti Squash

Friday – Burgers and Sweet Potato Fries

Saturday – Out or leftovers?

Off to the gym for a run and Bodypump!

Oh, don’t forget, today is the last day to enter my giveaway for Artisana Nut Butters!

QUESTIONS –

  • Did you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this weekend?
  • What’s one meal you are looking forward to eating this week?

  1. I’ll be at Body Pump later today, too! Have a great workout!

  2. Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I made sure to wear green today, but that’s about as festive as it’s going to get. That’s okay though . . . we’re just trying to get organized for a busy week ahead. 🙂

  3. I love how you plan leftover/out/wing it days! I do it too- it’s the only realistic way to plan!

    • Giselle Schroer says:

Most weeks I have at least one day where something comes up, changes or we decided to have left overs. So planning a day without a meal is much easier than trying to come up with something then not make it 🙂

  4. That sweet potato sheperd’s pie looks fantastic!! Gotta love Irish-inspired foods :).

    • Giselle Schroer says:

The sweet potato shepard’s pie was delicious! I love making that at home too. So easy, tasty and filling!

  5. We do not celebrate St. Patrick’s day but I went over to my mom’s house and she had made corned beef and cabbage. So I ate a ton of cabbage!

Your french onion soup looks really good. Do you have a recipe?

Have a great time at the gym!

    • Giselle Schroer says:

I’ve been craving cabbage lately and have it on my shopping list for tomorrow. Not sure how I’ll prepare it yet but I want some!
I actually didn’t make the soup but I think she said she found it on Pinterest…

  6. Love Bogle wines…so cheap yet so tasty! Their chardonnay is one of my favorites! Those cupcakes sound amazing…as does that salad…I’ll take one of each and call it a meal, thank you very much! 😉

No celebrating over here! Just another borrrrring day on the couch…but I DID try painting my nails green! Try being the operative word since 30 minutes later, I totally smudged every single nail on my left hand! Gah!

Haven’t planned any meals for the week, but hey, I ALWAYS look forward to breakfast! 😉

    • Giselle Schroer says:

Their chardonnay is really good! Their winery is actually really close by here and we’ve gone a few times. Really pretty and a few other wines they don’t sell in stores which were delicious! Haha! I ate a huge plate of salad. So good! Believe it or not I only had a small bite of a cupcake. Too much sugar and butter for my tummy! It was good though 🙂
I’m so impatient with my nails too! I almost always chip or smudge them as they dry. Which is why I rarely paint them!

  7. I’m making Portabello Sandwiches with Roasted Red Pepper Sauce tonight- yum!

  8. Wow that food all looks festive AND fantastic!

  9. I am impressed. That all looks SO great!
I didn’t end up celebrating St. Patty’s at all really. Which is the first year I’ve not done anything! Maybe because it was on a Sunday, who knows.
I’m always intrigued with starting a meal plan, I definitely need to do this at some point. For some reason, I’m always changing my mind so it never works out to well.

    • Giselle Schroer says:

Thanks Lisa! Definitely didn’t do it all! My cousin hosted and made the shepard’s pies, another friend made the soup and I did the salad and cupcakes 🙂
Meal plans have made my life SO much easier! Before I started doing them I felt like my hubby and I were always trying to figure out what we were going to have last minute and I would end up running to the grocery store several times a week. Now I plan around what’s on sale and coupons that I have which helps save some money 🙂 Although I do end up changing one or two nights but that’s okay!
