Ahhh… Friday has arrived and we are going to have a beautiful weekend of warm spring weather! So excited!
This week has included lots of fun! Here’s just a few favorites 🙂

Okay, now let’s talk fitness! You may remember last weekend I mentioned I was going to go try out a crossfit class. Sunday morning after our date night (and a few glasses of wine) we headed to the 9:00 class at his crossfit gym. I think with the time change and the wine I was feeling a little foggy and out of sorts but really wanted to give it a try. Plus, The Love Nugget was still at Auntie Gigi’s house so we were free for the morning.
The workout began with an interesting warm-up but after I was feeling ready to go! We moved on to another warm up incorporating a weighted ball. It was 30 ball slams, 30 jump squats, 30 weighted Russian twists then decreasing by 10 two more times through. So far I was loving it! Next came the technical portion where we practiced a move that I now can’t remember off the top of my head. They are very big on form and since it was my first time they had me using just the bar and really focusing on my footwork and form. After practicing this for about 10 minutes it was time for the WOD. This particular one was 5 rounds of 7 squat thrusters and 5 dead lifts. I was told to start with only barbells to make sure I had good form. After a few rounds of that I wanted to move on to the bar so the instructor assisted me in doing so. The weight was pretty light, (maybe 40 with the bar?) and I wanted to add more but they kept yelling at me for my form so I knew I needed to work on that first. It was hard trying to remember all the technicality of each exercise. I ended up going over 5 rounds but was sweating by the end for sure! To finish off the workout we were told to do 20 wall climbs. Hmm… that was fun! I think I did 15 before we decided we should go pick up The Love Nugget.
Overall I really enjoyed it and have been debating making the commitment or not. As much as I want to join, it’s just so expensive and since we are hoping to move sometime this year, I feel guilty spending the extra money. Plus, I’m having a hard time breaking up with the gym I go to now. I love going to my spin class, bootcamp, and having the option to go use the treadmill or whatever else. So… right now it’s sort of up in the air but at least I can say I tried it!
Anyways, here’s what this weeks workouts looked like,
Saturday – Rest
Sunday – Crossfit
Monday – Bodypump + 3.5 mile run
Tuesday – Bootcamp + 3.25 mile run
Wednesday – Spin class
Thursday – The hubby usually leaves for Crossfit around 5:00am so I rarely get to go to the gym early mornings anymore. He decided he was going to sleep in on this particular day so I created a crossfit style/treadmill workout to do on my own. While I do like short and quick workouts, sometimes I just want to go and bust my butt for an hour or more without stopping 🙂 This was just what I needed!
Later while the Love Nugget was napping I did this core circuit,

We are off to gymnastics then hopefully a stop at the mall…. we’ll see how that goes with Mr. Love Nugget. Lately he has been ready for a nap much earlier. Tired little guy!
