MIMM – Bloggiversary!

It’s Monday again and a great one at that!  You see, today marks the one year anniversary of My Healthy Happy Home!  I can’t even believe it’s been a year already!  Before I get more into this milestone, I must first thank Katie at Healthy Diva Life for hosting another week of MIMM!

So, where was I, oh yeah, it’s my bloggiversary!  Just about a year ago I became obsessed with reading blogs.  I’ll attribute that to Pinterest since many of the blogs I discovered and loved (Fitnessista, Healthy Diva Life, Blonde Ponytail, and The Diva Dish) I found while spending countless hours “pinning.”  From reading those blogs, I began thinking about how I could do the same.  So My Healthy Happy Home was born.  Well, it began as A Healthy Happy Home but changed when I purchased a URL.  Anyways, I’ve greatly enjoyed it and have grown so much in the past year.

For example, look at these photos from a few of my very first posts…

Little Finger Won Ton’s from March 2012

Flaxseed Mug Muffin from March 2012

I’d say there was slight improvement in my photography skills.  I’m still not great by any means but am learning as I go 🙂

Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Hearts

Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Hearts from February 2012

Part of that is thanks to PicMonkey too 🙂  Love that free tool!

Blogging has been such a great way to document The Love Nugget’s growth and milestones.

Like when he started walking,

his first cupcake experience,

or his first Goose Egg 🙁

It’s also led me to create some delicious, healthy recipes for my family.

Almond Butter Chocolate Chip Granola

(Grilled Chicken and Cherry Quinoa Salad)

(Paleo Brownie Bites)

The year has really gone by so quickly and I’m excited to continue on this blogging adventure and see where it leads me.  I’ve got a few things in store to celebrate this milestone including some awesome giveaways from a few favorite companies of mine!  So make sure to stay tuned throughout the rest of this month 🙂

Special thank you to those of you who have been with me from the beginning and my new readers who are just joining in on the fun!  I hope it’s been as enjoyable for you as it has been for me!  Love to each and everyone of you!

Thank you!!!!!

  5. Happy Blogiversary!!! I’ll celebrate one year at the very end of May. I had been reading healthy living blogs for years prior. Never thought I’d start one of my own until I enrolled at IIN. And then I just HAD to have an outlet for all that I was doing. 🙂

    • Giselle Schroer says:

Thanks Michelle! You have such a plethora of healthy information and I love reading your blog so I’m glad you decided to start one!

  6. Congrats! Happy Bloggiversary!

I’ve had my blog for about 2 years. I’ve been reading other blogs for a year before I started mines. I wish that when I first started, I had it set and stone what I wanted my blog to be about. My blog has transformed since I first started it.

    • Giselle Schroer says:

Thanks Helen! I hear that a lot from other bloggers. I feel like I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to blog about but have changed a little since the beginning. More health and fitness, less kid stuff 🙂

  7. Happy Blogiversary! So exciting, it’s kind of crazy how fast a year passes right?! I never thought I’d blog for this long, or really enjoy it as much as I do! I’ve almost been blogging for a year…it will be a year in a week actually!

    • Giselle Schroer says:

Happy almost Blogiversary to you too! This year went by so fast! Crazy fast!

  8. Happy one year!! Isn’t it so funny to look back at those first posts? Some of mine are so embarrassing! 🙂 You are a fantastic photographer… wanna take pics for me?

    • Giselle Schroer says:

Thanks Laura! You are so sweet to say that! I wish I could figure out all the tricks to photography but my secret weapon is Picmonkey!

  9. Happy One Year!!!

  10. Happy Bloggiversary! 🙂 So fun to see the progress. I see it in myself too! It really is a fun way to document everything!

Thanks Alysia! It truly is such a great way to document our growth. I love looking back and seeing how much I’ve changed!

  11. Your son is adorable! I love picmonkey as well! Their holiday stuff is always so cute 🙂

  12. Aww, the goose egg pic! I’ve have one of those myself… 🙁 Poor baby!

Since I’m back-tracking on your posts, I’ve already said it, but I’ll say it again…happy bloggy birthday!! Sorry…I kinda cringe at the “anniversary” term 😉

I’ve been blogging for almost 2 and a half years now…funny, sometimes it feels like longer while other times it feels like I just started months ago! One of the BIGGEST things that has changed is definitely my photography…ugh, I shudder when I look back at some of my old posts! Like, HOW did I think that looked GOOD?! Lol I wish I had known a little more about photography and recipe formatting when I first got started. I’ve been converting all of my old recipes over to my Recipage tab over the last few months and I’ve had to practically rewrite half of them because they’re all out of order and don’t make sense…heck, some of them don’t even tell how long to cook something for! Haha!

  13. Happy 1 year to you! I just re-launched my blog, though I’ve been writing it since 2010. Really looking forward to improving my own photography skills- my husband taught me a few tricks on his Canon Digital Rebel and it has made all the difference. I just need to always have a camera on me- keep forgetting it at home!
