Meal Planning and Ezekiel Flax Sprouted Whole Grain Bread

by Giselle Schroer on February 24, 2013

Oh my, it’s Sunday already!

I can’t believe how fast the weekend flew by but I have to admit, I’m so excited it did.  I can’t wait for my hubby to get home.  We miss him so much!

My mom is still here for the day so we’re planning on taking The Nugget to do something fun.  Hopefully outdoors but yesterday it was so windy and cold!  I’m such a baby when it comes to cold wind.  Can’t stand it!

This morning I finally got a chance to try some of the delicious bread that Food For Life sent me. About a month ago, they sent me a package with a few loaves of their newest Flaxseed bread.  I love Ezekiel breads but was in the middle of my Paleo Challenge so I had to wait to sample it.  I did however, take some to my Stroller Strides group to share along with some homemade Almond Butter.

It was a hit with the adults and kiddos!  Everyone loved the wonderful, hearty flavor of the bread as well as the wonderful nutrition facts,

and the ingredients,

Ingredients

Organic Sprouted Wheat, Filtered Water, Organic Sprouted Flax, Organic Sprouted Barley, Organic Sprouted Millet, Organic Malted Barley, Organic Sprouted Lentils, Organic Sprouted Soybeans, Organic Sprouted Spelt, Fresh Yeast, Organic Wheat Gluten, Sea Salt. Rolled in Organic Flax Seeds.
I’ve always been a fan of Ezekiel Sprouted Breads but didn’t realize just how good they were for you.  Some of the benefits you get from Sprouted breads include,
  • Increased Digestibility
  • Increased Antioxidants
  • Increased Vitamins
  • Increased Absorption of Minerals
  • More Vitamin C and D

So, like I said today I finally got a chance to sample some of this bread and I was impressed!  The flavor is amazing and its very filling.

Topped with a little raw honey and almond butter made the perfect breakfast for me.  Yum!

Tuesday – Grilled Mahi Mahi with Mango Avocado Salsa

WednesdayChicken with Honey Beer Sauce  (I might make a few changes though) and Kale Apple Salad

ThursdayGinger Soy Salmon with Roasted Romanesco

Saturday – ?????

Our plans are up in the air for next weekend so I’m leaving those days open.  Maybe out?  Maybe left overs?  We’ll see!

Off to get ready for the day!  Hope you all have a great Sunday!

QUESTIONS –

  • Have you tried Ezequiel Sprouted Breads before?
  • What’s on your meal plan for the week?

Isn’t the Ezekial Bread delicious?! We really enjoyed it, and I’m definitely sold on sprouted breads rather than traditional at this point. Have a great day!

I love that Ezekiel bread! We go through about a loaf a week. The cinnamon raisin is also delish! Sounds like some fabulous eats this week.

I LOVE Ezequiel bread! It’s honestly a favorite for me, especially since they don’t contain dairy which many soft breads do. No tummy aches – yay!

Ooh, I love Ezekial bread! I haven’t had it in SO long (due to the Paleo challenge). I definitely need to add it to my grocery list! It’s funny, we are planning to have turkey burgers and sweet potato fries this week, too!

Ezekiel is the bread my husband and I eat 98% of the time. I haven’t seen the flax in the stores. Do you know if it’s available yet?
